Often times at craft shows, someone will casually walk by and glance at our candles. While our candles look nice, they look like….well, candles without dye. It’s not until we get to chatting with them that we find out what their favorite scents are, and we are able to give them great suggestions on certain scents. Most of the time the customer walks away with a candle in hand, happy to have found a great scent.
Online it’s not so easy to have a one on one chat with someone. Scent lists on websites can seem endless, and your favorite might not always “jump out”…especially if the list is as large as our’s (currently over 40 different scents).
One of the problems with online stores is the lack of communication and personalization. Filling out a form or an email just isn’t the same. To find a scent you truely love, a personal conversation is a must! This is why Prairie Soy Candles is now offering something special and unique to candle lovers.

This is not a scheduled chat or an online party (as great as those are), but rather a personal chat on Yahoo Messenger at your convenience. The chats will be handled by myself, Kara Kelso (Prairie Soy Candles partner), at any time you wish to speak. To chat you will need the following:

- Scent Preferences
One of our first questions at craft shows is always “What type of scents do you like?”. Based on the answer to that question, we are able to find a scent that is to your liking. Because we know what they smell like, it’s easier for us to tell what you may like going by YOUR description. It’s also easier to find an exact scent that matches instead of you sifting through our scent list.
Also, we realize you may have that certain scent you found in a store at one point but haven’t been able to find ever since. Describing that scent in detail may help us to find a scent that is very similar to the one you loved and can’t find.
- Candle type preferences
Not sure what would fit into your decor, or what size the candle actually is? A conversation can clear up some of that confusion, and we can also point you in a direction to a candle that fits your style.
- Special Orders
There’s no way for us to be 100% accurate on your preferred scent, so in a personal chat we can put together a personalized sample pack of melts or tealights. Prices will be quoted on the spot, and we can also talk about shipping options.
We can also talk about other types of special orders, and types of candles you prefer. Based on your descriptions, we can give you better recommendations.
