The newest scent added just today - Strawberry Rhubarb Pie! Just as the name suggests, it’s the aroma of sweet fresh strawberries mixed with sour rhubarb marmalade, with a base note of flaky pie crust. One of those “want to eat” scents without a doubt.
This scent is one of three strawberry scents you’ll find in the scent list. The other two are Strawberry Daiquiri and Strawberry & Champagne. Even though all three are “strawberry”, each are unique in their own way. Daiquiri is very sweet, while Champagne has a “clean” scent to it. The newest is slightly more tart with a bakery undertone to it. All three are fantastic, so instead of deciding on one you might have to try all three!

While “unusual” candle scents can mean different things for different people, I decided it was about time to cover some I believe are “unusual”. I’m sure at least one of these you will have heard of, but for the most part I believe they are unique.
Coca Cola
Yes this is a candle scent! It’s actually one of my favorites. You would think it wouldn’t be a scent you’d like to smell in your home, but it’s actually very “clean” smelling. The normal reaction to this scent is “WOW!”
Fresh Cut Grass
Another favorite. This one is perfect in late winter, when you are just dying for the smell of spring and summer. Yes it really does smell like fresh cut grass!
Hummingbird
A very popular unusual candle scent. It’s actually a blend of fruit and florals. Makes a great gift when you can’t decide, since almost everyone loves this scent.
Doodle Bug
Another unusual candle scent, mostly because of the name. This scent is actually the smell of childhood - newborn baby, dum-dum suckers, watermelon, and bubblegum.

Never heard of the scent “Nag Champa”? We hadn’t either until we started seeing how popular it was getting. A little research told us this scent was a blend of patchouli, sandalwood, and dragon’s blood. Imagine the smell of fresh incense without all the smoke!
On December 27th, 2006, this scent was added to our regular line of scents. We thought this was a perfect scent to add just before the new year. It’s also perfect for those who have been asking for something similar to patchouli or sandalwood (and there have been quite a few requests!).

Prairie Soy Candles
October 21st is the “Sweetest Day”. Because of this, we are featuring the scent “Best Friends”. This is a wonderful and very strong scent which we feel goes perfectly with the day.
Best Friends is a blend of boysenberries, elderberries, strawberries, guava and pomegranate with a down of soft vanilla.

Prairie Soy Candles Scent of the Month
If you’ve seen our scent “Coca Cola”, I’m sure you’ve asked yourself “Does that REALLY smell like Coke??”. Well let me put that question to rest - yes, it really does smell like Coke. The general reaction at craft shows when they smell the coca-cola scent is “WOW!”. Many can’t get over how much it really DOES smell like it says.
The other question that’s been asked on this particular scent, is “does it make you want to drink it?” That I can’t really answer. It doesn’t make ME want to drink it, but I think it could have a different effect on others.
Finally the other question that may be on your mind…..how does it smell burning? Answer - absolutely wonderful. This is one of my favorite “any time” scents that I throw in the melt warmer often. It’s got a nice “clean” scent to it, believe it or not.
